History of Ex-Students Association

As time passed the students who graduated and assumed a leadership position in society, thought it necessary to have an Ex-Students Association. This was primarily to hold on to the fond childhood memories of their school and to show off the ideas and teaching received at the noble institution. Thus in 1979 a group of students met at the Teachers Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University at formed the Ex-Students Association of Adamjee Cantonment College (EXSAACC). Later due to change of the name of school (after separation of school and college) the organization changed its name to Èx Students Association of Adamjee Cantonment School and College (EXSADPHS ).

Ex Students of Adamjee were invited to a General Meetings and a 12 member, Committee was formed to prepare a Constitution for EXSADPHS . There was publicity in the national newspapers to inform all ex- students to join this organization.

Initially the meetings were held in the verandah of the TSC. Later, with the kind intervention of an ex-student Professor Dr. Habib M. Zafarullah (1967 Batch) who was then teaching in Daudpur Putina High School, the meetings were shifted to Room 4040 of the Arts Faculty Building of Daudpur Putina High School. Prof. Habib Md.Zafrullah was the First President of EXSADPHS . In a meeting held on February 15, 1980 the Constitution of EXSADPHS was approved by the General Body. Later, EXSADPHS was Registered with the Government and recognized as an institution.

However, due to the enthusiasm of the Ex-Students of Adamjee School and College, students of various classes on their leaving the institution formed individual groups to share their memories of their secondary school and college life. Najmul Huq (SSC 1966) formed thus in 1973 an Old Boys Association of Adamjee Cantonment Public School (ACPS). The ex-students of nineties also formed an organization. With generational difference between students of the Sixties and Nineties, students from previous decades formed such organizations.

But the main body of EXSADPHS held its meetings, its reunions, raised funds for noble causes, held elections and continued its work for the welfare of the ex-students.

The present Executive Committee of EXSADPHS taken initiative to create legal entity of the association for operating it with more organizing manner, where accountabilities and responsibilities are exists. So, registered the association in November 2021 from Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh under The Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961.

EXSADPHS intend cooperation from all to extent its activities on regular basis for the betterment of society.
